PrideFull is back for its 5th year with 13 films centering LGBTQIA2S+ people of color and their stories. The festival runs September 6-14, 2025, with in-person screenings on September 6&7 in New York City and a virtual program available from September 8-14 across the United States.

This year’s festival embodies the theme Joy Is Resistance. At a time when our bodies and our spirits are under threat, we are bolstered by our unwavering joy in all its iridescent forms. Our joy is our shield, our protest march, our candle in the dark. And in celebrating ourselves and our communities with these films from across the globe, we ignite a light that can never be dimmed. If the world is ending, we choose to dance—and in doing so, we just might dance our way into a brave, new queer future.

Queer joy takes many forms in these 13 films: It’s the visceral joy of living proudly in our skin, of raising our voices for equality and being heard, of taking up space on the subway and in the street. It’s the bittersweet joy of saying goodbye to a formative relationship, and the electric joy of meeting someone new. There’s the nourishing joy of unearthing our queer histories and forging family. And of course, there’s joy simply in the act of telling our stories through film.

The 2025 PrideFull lineup includes 2 feature-length and 11 short films from Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, the Netherlands, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Among them are 2 North American Premieres (Farewell, Saranghae, Farewell and Telepathic Encounters), 3 U.S. Premieres (Edhi Alice; My Therapist Said, I Am Full of Sadness; and Two Sides) and 2 New York Premieres (My Heart Is Going To Explode! and Today I Ride the Subway).
