Director’s Statement

I was a pile of grief and panic when I first wrote this film in a version that will never see the light of day. I wanted to replicate the unease and anxiety I began to experience on my daily subway commute after being assaulted a couple of years ago. It became an increasingly cumbersome task to leave the house every day and ride the subway knowing my fate was undetermined. It's taken me some time to find any sense of power in that choice. I've learned that it's an honor to walk amongst the world and grace it with my presence. I felt it more important to make a film that echoes such beliefs and offers a sense of solidarity with those who too feel naked and alone sometimes. This film is for you, and for me, of course.

Director’s Bio

Rosalina Michele (she/her)

Rosalina Michele (she/her) is an independent filmmaker, event organizer, and writer from New Jersey. She is the co-founder of P2C Collective, alongside Justice Wilson. Their first creative effort was the publication, Femmespread Magazine, of which they are editors-in-chief. Michele describes her filmmaking style as emotionally operatic, multichromatic queer melodrama with occasional happy endings. Her first completed film is All Tomorrow's Parties (2024). She has contributed interview transcriptions to the New York Trans Oral History Project. Michele identifies as a first-generation American, survival sex worker, and fifth wave transsexual. She hopes to one day concretize the first museum dedicated to preservation of trans feminine history and culture as well as reintroduce foam parties and discotechques to New York City nightlife.
